The Hype
Emerging Japanese electronic duo, Converge +, bring us 2 serious uptempo instrumentals. A double track follow up to their techy "Travel Underground" debut single heard on the recent Darkness EP on Nite Grooves, one can hear a classically-trained influence in their productions. These 2 tracks virtually defy any definition of what we know electronic music to be. "Solid State" with its frenetic xlyo riffs, synth jabs and piano loop and repetitive percussion warms us up for "Pneuma" which is even more complex with long drawn and staccato strings, wood clav-ish percussion, chiming loops, and pure symphonic synth. This is what classical music of the future may very well sound like.
